THE BUMRUSH

Helen Slater had an amazing cinematical run from 1984 to 1987, starring in Supergirl, The Legend of Billie Jean (1985), Ruthless People (1986), and Secret of My Succe$s (1987) in four year period. But she gets my attention for her role in Supergirl, which I was absolutely obsessed with when I was a kid. It wasn't natural. You could say I had my first movie-star crush on her back in the day. There is something about a strong woman rolling around in tar that gets me excited to this day. I’ve actually watched Supergirl again about 5 years ago and the movie does not hold up in the least bit. It’s total cheese, actually pretty painful to watch. But, if you grew up in the 80’s it’s tough not to have a soft spot for Helen Slater, who was the Jessica Alba of her day.
